Dust of the Beloved Dead
For anything you wish your Beloved to lay their hands upon.
This dressing powder is composed of Apple leaf, Madder root, graveyard dirt, Fulgurite, in a base of ground eggshells. It serves to encourage the Dead to be present and actively partake or interact with particular tools or items.
A good friend once told me that Fulgurite is the union of Earth and Sky, the powers of Land and Heaven meeting in one place to exchange a passionate fire. This meaning struck me as incredibly significant and has stayed with me since. This Fulgurite was a gift from the Ancestors, collected in the Canadian Badlands. This rocky, arid, desert spans 90,000 square kilometers of Southern Alberta, Western Saskatchewan, and Northern Montana. Its spectacular landscape is often struck by lightning during heavy summer storms, leaving pale, blue-green, crystalized silica as it strikes the sandstone formations for which the area is famous. I found this Fulgurite after performing a ritual calling on my Ancestors of Blood and Land, requesting their guidance. I am honored to include it in this powder.
Wherever this dust lands, the Dead are encouraged to be present and manifest. Upon spellwork, the Ancestors lend their force to achieve your aims. Upon their altar, they are made embodied and comfortable. Sprinkled on a skull candle or effigy, the Dead are made to enter it and speak through it. As a dust of strewing the circle, it creates the space-apart-from-time within which the Dead may appear. Used to dress candles, the powder beckons to the Spirits and draws them near. In water, it encourages the Dead to speak through image and symbol. Upon the hands of the witch, the Dead lend their guidance, whether through writing or embrace.
Sprinkle on anything you wish to dedicate to the Dead, or on anything you want them to act through. Use also in all necromantic acts of a positive nature, or to facilitate contact with the Ancestors, whether in spellwork or in devotion.
You will receive one 1oz bottle of Dust. Sold as curio only.
