Working a Money Bowl
Money bowls are a great, versatile option for those who want to keep a continuous flow of money, wealth, and abundance coming in. Each is unique and tailored to your needs, through petitions, the choice of materia used in its crafting, and the workings performed around it. Money bowls may simply increase income, or they might be used to bring in more clients, to make more sales, to obtain a promotion or more hours at work, to help in keeping money, or to attract generous investments. They can also be used to work towards specific financial goals, such as hitting a specific amount in savings, being able to afford a trip, or building towards that first down payment on a house.
These are simple tools, and require little more than some coins, perhaps some bills, and a petition, but much more can be used to fine-tune your working. Of course, you will also need an appropriate vessel for this work. This can be a jar, a plate, or, of course, a nice bowl. Our own Money Bowls are made of speckled stoneware mixed with the dirt of multiple banks and financial institutions, spun in the day and hour of Jupiter. The 2nd Pentacle of Jupiter is engraved within, and blessed in the proper day and hour with prayers, fumigations, and various blessings. This pentacle is fit for acquiring riches and honors, and building wealth.
Things you may wish to include in your own Money Bowl include:
Herbs: Basil, Irish Moss, Alfalfa, Thyme, Fumitory, Cinnamon, Allspice, Cinquefoil, etc…
Seeds: Rice, Lentils, Beans, Chickpeas, Rye, etc…
Curios: High John the Conqueror root, Lucky Hand root, Gator paws, Rabbits' feet, Buckeyes, Acorns, Roses of Jericho, playing cards, etc…
Stones: Lodestone, Pyrite, Citrine, Green Aventurine, Emerald, clear Quartz, etc…
Charms: Saint Expedite medals, small talismans, Mercury dimes, skeleton keys, pentacles, etc…
Oils: Money-Drawing oil, Blockbuster oil, Kleidochos oil, Spica: The Merchant oil, Crown of Success oil, Regulus oil, Pay Pig oil, Fast Cash oil, etc…
Powders: Money-Drawing powder, Wealthy Way powder, Saint Expedite powder, Crown of Success powder, Spica powder, etc…
And, of course, money.
Of course, everything included in your Money Bowl should be consecrated, prayed over, and washed in any way you like. My preference lies in anointing everything with money-drawing oil, and praying Psalm 23 over each item. I may also wash the bowl itself in an infusion of Basil and liquor. These items may be added all at once, or over time, as you see fit. The intention of a Money Bowl is its continual evolution; if money is coming in but quickly slipping through your fingers, add herbs known to help hold on to money. If things are slow, start working Fast Cash oils and powders into it.
In addition to the herbs, curios, charms, and other items placed within the bowl, you will want to add your petitions. These are requests, goals, and aspirations, made to “program” the bowl to bring in your desires. These may be as simple as a wish written on a slip of paper, or a full-blown petition paper with names, dates of birth, commands, signatures, delineations of time, sigils, fixed with oils and powders. These petitions may be placed beneath the bowl, but I prefer to place them directly in it, to be with the various curios, oils, powders, etc…
The money, whether it be coins or bills, added to the Money Bowl, is to be accumulated and spent as your heart sees fit. The important part is that more money be added to the bowl at least weekly, and that at least a few coins or bills be left behind when you choose to take it from it. The money that is added to a Money Bowl becomes “trained” to go and hunt for more money, making sure that whatever you spend comes back to you manifold.

Now that you’ve put your Money Bowl together, what do you do with it? There are a few ways you can keep your Money Bowl active and juiced up to draw money and abundance your way. Of course, you may choose to simply keep the bowl around, and use it to train money by adding bills and coins weekly, and taking some out whenever it’s needed. Or, you may choose to work your bowl in a more active way:
The Lodestone
For this method of working the Money Bowl, a single lodestone is used as its centerpiece. This lodestone is named after yourself, and placed atop a bed of powder, Rice, dirt from a bank, or something else that makes a solid base onto which the lodestone can be set, and into which the other curios used can be placed. Bills and coins are placed around the edge of the bowl so that the lodestone remains undisturbed. It is fed on a weekly basis with a splash of alcohol, which can be as simple as whiskey, bourbon, vodka, or gin, or can be a more complicated wash such as the one shared in our Formulary of Saint Expedite class. It is also sprinkled with magnetic sand, or lodestone grits, while prayers are made to attract more money as the lodestone attracts more sand.
The Candle Altar
As the Candle Altar, the Money Bowl serves as a vessel for candle workings. A candleholder or small plate is placed within the bowl, on which candles fixed for abundance, wealth, and money-drawing are burned. These can be chime candles burned every time the bowl is worked, or larger 7-day candles left to burn over the course of the week. As these candles burn, prayers, psalms, hymns, and requests are sung out loud. Smaller candles may be burned as “support candles” on the rim of the bowl.
The Rose of Jericho
When used as a vessel for a Rose of Jericho, the Money Bowl is carefully curated so that it does not contain any items which are sensitive to moisture. Playing cards, petitions, and paper bills are instead placed beneath the bowl, while coins and stones are used to fill the bowl. It may be encircled with powders, and its rim anointed with oils. A Rose of Jericho dedicated to this work is then placed within the bowl and made to bloom once a week, accompanied with prayer, incense, and candle work, if desired. The water this Rose has bloomed in can then be added to floor washes and baths, sprinkled around the home or business, or used to dress the hands, wallet, etc…
